Just noticed the compass or outside temp not working on my Tahoe rear view mirror, (2001) just a blank screen, the one on my Z71 Suburban worked fine. anyone had this issue? wonder if just a simple swap will fix or is there a fuse or sensors that fail more commonly? thanks. off Monday I will try to swap but wondering if any other possibilities.

the mirrors get bad solder inside or the display goes goofy, some people open them up and operate, personally I just went to the junkyard and bought a used one $15 and done.
if you go buy a used one it has to be the same design mirror, the harness are different so check your mirror plug or take the old one with you to match it up, take a picture of it or whatever.

one other thing you could check first is be sure you didn't unplug the temp sensor when you did your engine work, it is located behind the grill on the passenger side attached to the radiator support frame or the frame.

The temp/compass on our RV Mirror ('03 Escalade) has been going in and out since we had the windshield replaced.

I've been saving that project for a rainy day, and it's raining today.

Any likely suspects?
