Currently scoping out some AC DELCO plugs and wires for the Burb on Rock Auto. It’s about that time again

You could always try swapping to a smaller pulley. That way it will spin the alternator faster while its idling, well it will spin it faster all the time but you understand what I'm getting at.

When I had my 1st gen Esky I got rid of the mechanical/engine driven fan and upgraded to the GMT900 dual electric fans.

When my 160A alternator finally crapped out I had a friend of mine that owned a rebuild shop rewind it to a 200A.

He told me he could rewind it up to a 260A but that it basically would not charge at idle.

When I got it back from him it still didn't charge as much as I wanted at idle so I swapped to a smaller pulley from an old alternator I had laying around, it may have been from an old S10 I don't really remember.

Anyway, that did the trick and it charged well at all speeds. The only down side was I had to run a slightly shorter belt to keep the tensioner happy.
I had the tech2 hooked up yesterday and under body/bcm there is a electrical section, in there is option to command the regulator from 40-90%, no matter what I commanded it didn't make any difference and with the fans on high speed it was discharging the battery at around -7/8/9 amps, just doesn't seem right, had the same results swapping battery's & alternators

Whats the skill level on this? My truck has 90k on it and not sure when the last time the plugs and wires were changed. Rather do it myself than pay somebody.

Easy. Just take a socket, wrench and about an hour of your time. :)

Hopefully someone can help me out with something that just came up... whenever I floor it, everything will cut out very briefly at around 5k. Gauges all drop to 0 for a split second and it lights up like a Christmas tree and says stabilitrack off. Anyone have a clue?

if you have a tech2 it may have a bcm code stored, I would think anyway
