I just wanna know how you guys are getting your windows tinted so freakin cheap?
Is it cuz you're just tinting over stock tint or what?
I got a quote for like 250 to get my windows tinted as dark as I want and you fools are paying 50 for 5%... wtf

all depends on the area you live. in so cal you can get a car done for as low as $100 and as much as $600. its the old adage, you get what you pay for. luckily i have a friend that owns a shop and he did me a favor and did my entire truck, minus front windshield for $150. it's been 9 years and still the same tint. i am getting my dr's note and going as dark as possible over the rears, limo on the front doors and maybe 35% on the front windshield. have only gotten one ticket in 9 years, but my sheriff friend got it signed off so i paid $25.

Can you get windows that are "stained"? So that its "shatter" proof.. Thats the only reason I keep hearing when I get pulled over and have to take my tint off.

tint will keep the glass from falling out but it will still shatter. the glass is safety glass. its supposed to shatter into small pieces as opposed to breaking into large dangerous shards. that would slice you like a pig if you got into an accident.

I really do think it depends on where you live.. and my guy is mobile and he is the owner so he has no overhead so thats why he beats any big company prices.. but all his work is just as well and i believe even better since he takes his time and wants you to be happy.. hes done all my tint on all my cars.. and ive had alot hehe

I guess it has to do w/ where u live for sure.
This dude that does mine, ive known for prolly 15 years and he's way cheaper than everyone else.. but still like I said, for my tahoe, $175.
He does a good job and its lifetime warranty but Id like to pay $50 haha

You can have an eye doc or dermatologist write you the letter saying you are sensitive to sunlight. Send it to TXDOT and they return it with the documentation.

When I get pulled over I show it to the cop and the let me go on it, but they always find something else to rag about, i.e. no front plate, tinted tails.

Can you still pass the emissions test? Here in the Houston area, they won't let you pass if the tint is not legal.
