So was inspecting my Xpel install on the 19 RST ** and noted my driver side bumper cover near the edge of the headlight where it meets the fender was popped out. I pushed it back in but it doesn't seem to be secure and is still loose. I imagine on the next drive it will pop back out. I can push on the front cover under the headlight and it will pop back out. The attached pic is after I pushed it back in so its not sticking out as far as it was when I noticed it. Anyone else noticed this and it's normal or do I have something broke which should hold it in?

So I see now that the cover should just snap in but for some reason the outer tab or two are not locking in place.

I would rather not take the cover off, and dont trust the dealer to do it without screwing something up. Anyone else experiencing this?

This is a minor issue, but drives my OCD crazy not being aligned properly.

The passenger side is also not aligned perfect however when I push on the cover near the headlight on that side, it does not come out so far as to where I can see the tab opening. So I am assuming it's locked in.

A Google search shows this is a common issue on a lot of vehicles. But don't see anything on HOs.

I looked at few other Tahoe/Suburbans while out and about today and saw they all had flush fitting bumper covers. So that told me I for sure had an issue.

After looking at the Denali grill swap sticky i decided to tackle this myself as i knew the dealer would break the tabs.

I took all the screws out of the wheel liner and then got behind the cover and loosened the bumper cover guide. I was the able to pull the bumper cover back and see all the tabs were in tact and none broken. Puzzled I looked further and found the front tab was not aligning just perfect. With the entire bumper cover loose at the corner I was able to flex it to where I got it to snap in place and then I tightened the cover guide back down. Everything is holding in place and aligned perfect now even after pushing in the front cover under the headlight so it should stay in place during driving and washes.

Big thanks to cmatt on his grill swap thread sticky!!!!

Shame on Chevy for crappy QC on a 76k vehicle!

Was at the dealer today and took a look at a few new Hos on the lot to see if any of them had this issue.

Sure enough they do. This must be a 2019 issue. If you own a 19 I would check your fitment. Seems to be more common on the driver side from what I've observed, but both sides of mine were popped out.

I have searched the inter-net for a front bumper for my car Tahoe and can't locate any. Does anyone have distinguished idea where I can find a front bumper for my ride?

A million thanks for this write up Denali. Very helpful. I too have a 19 Tahoe and it was as simple as a slight misalignment on the front couple tabs. All set now
