I guess it's "progress" that the 2005 Tahoe I'm getting (a low-mileage really nice one that's been in the family) doesn't have the lock cylinder in the rear "open glass window" button and also doesn't have an exterior key lock in the front passenger door. Has anyone gotten (I'm thinking salvage yard) parts and put things back as they should be for exterior locks on a "later in the 2000-2006 generation" Tahoe/Yukon?

Also missing is the extremely handy lock/unlock toggle switch on the right side at the very back that's easy to access with just the rear window open. So I'll probably look to "restore" that too.

Thanks for any info!

They didn't come with these. Think they stopped the rear most pwr lock button in 02, my 03 doesn't have it.

My 05 YD only had the key hole on the drivers side and I deleted it. Its easier to break into these trucks with the key hole, all they have to do is jam a screw driver in the right place pry on the lock mechanism and the truck unlocks.

I got an earlier rear button and had it keyed to match. got tired of walking up to the rear and not getting in. was planning on doing it to the pass door also, but might not.

I think my pass front on my 03 Hoe has a keyed exterior lock.

EDIT--It does

doesn't nearly every single one of these trucks have keyless entry??? seems rather redundant I haven't put my key in the door lock but once in 2yrs just to make sure it worked.

Owned mine since 2012 and I've never used my key in the door--yet.

I didn't even notice that the passenger side didn't have a key lock, we never use them but to make sure they still work.

Hey fellas, didn't I read somewhere on here that the key lock for the back window was still there, underneath the cap that covers it unlike the older ones where it was exposed? Or am I thinking about something else?
