Next Wednesday I am going to have my brakes checked. See how much wear, and how long before next service. Then shopping ahead of time for what to use, when it's due.

They seem fine now, but I don't want a surprise.

Was wondering what happen to rear differential ? And tranny ? Brothers got 2002 suburban 5.3 4x4 has 209,000 miles and never had any running gear replaced .. he even ran tranny quart low for 3 years.
As he was only checking it cold .

Differential started making a little noise, a clicking sound, only occasionally. My son-in-law is a mechanic with his own shop. Had him take a look. He thought it might be traction control causing it. When he got in there he decided to replace it all. I didn't question. Tranny started thumping back into 1st when stopping, so figured only a matter of time before major problems. Can't afford to be stuck on the side of the road. Like I mentioned, I tow daily so I'm grossing nearly 11,000 much of the time. Amazingly, I get around 90-100K on a set of brakes, though.

I drive my Yukon more like a car...... So from what I hear it should last a long time before a major repair. ( I am into preventative maintenance too)

So,...... we all have a 3-day weekend! Car racing & mowing the lawn. Wash the truck.

I'm big on maintenance, too. But 16 years of working out of a vehicle takes it's toll. Great thing is these things are fairly cheap to repair. I have gradually accumulated spare parts when I find either good used or new parts at reasonable process. For example, I bought NOS door armrests, bumper pads, and some other parts that may be hard to find as GM decides to delete from production. Other parts like door handles, fog lights. grille assemblies and power windows are ridiculously cheap and available from a large number of vendors. I plan on repowering with an HP 5.3 or possibly a 6.0 or 6.2 once the engine dies. As people start to retire older vehicles, I see some good used parts on Ebay. I just bought a used interior door panel in nearly perfect condition for $100 bucks and got everything including window controls, armrest, door courtesy lights. Bought separately, it would have cost over $400.

Yes Im sure towing is harder on them. After shopping and buying used and seeing them I do believe most full-size trucks SUVs die before there time . Just because of poor maintenance. Or I have notice soon as there is even spot rust . Those it's like everyone stops doing maintenance. We live in a throwaway society you know. Any truck good for 200,000 . Unless GM puts great idea in and it flops.
I hear alot bragging out of Ford and Dodge guys but they have some of the biggest repair forums on the internet lol [emoji106].

Earlier this year I discovered an honest salvage yard. "Pull n' Go"... On 63rd Ave. E. in south Bradenton, off of 301. It's near the Pick your part ( which is sorta a rip-off)....

Meaning, Pull n' Go does not remove the "Amazon good stuff" off the vehicles before you pay to enter the place and can't find the good stuff.

I have seen some nice parts ( inside & out) of Yukons & Burbs. You should check it out.

I've only seen the one on 63rd between 301 and Bus. 301 which has been there forever. I may check the Pull N' Go next time I'm up that way. Would really like some mirrors with the power fold and signals.

The pull-n-go is fairly new. ( nicer looking place )..... I swear..... nothing is missing on their stuff compared to the other place.

Other places strip the good stuff before the public gets inside. Not them.

I picked 3 pairs of puddle light housings ( I polished them to a clear lens)... The other place had nothing. $2 bucks each!!

They are about 300 yards nearer 301, on same side of street.

Just looked at there website photos. There's a Yukon right in the middle of one photo. That place looks huge!
