Hey everyone,

I installed my first leveling kit this week - 2” RC + 3/4” Daystar Rear - and got some new tires. I love the way it looks, but I’ve realized now that it’s done that I have a question about the droop/bump stops:

Droop Stops - I’m not sure, but I suspect that I might be hitting my droop stops on driveways and such. Is this just my imagination? I’m not sure why I didn’t consider this in advance, but I’m assuming I lost about as much suspension travel downward as I gained ride height upward. I can see some light marring on the stop, but I don’t know if it’s from the UCA impacting during driving or contact from jacking.

Is this pretty common? Long term concerns/consequences? The UCA look like aluminum.

At 2”/0.75” I thought I was going fairly conservative, but now I’m not sure.

I appreciate the education, guys.

That is pretty conservative. What did you use to achieve your new ride height? To find out what’s hitting you can use a market or something to coat where you think it’s hitting and look for transfer. Did you get it realigned after suspension work?

This is my first rig with this suspension setup. My last two were Land Rovers so I’m accustomed to a lot of suspension travel.

The level is a 2” Rough Country under strut spacer in the billet aluminum version. I got an alignment afterward. I’ll use a sticker or an oil-based marking crayon on the arm to get a better idea if it’s making regular contact or not.

I guess my primary concern - out of sheer ignorance - is that I’m at risk of damaging the UCA from limiting out against that stop. Up until now I’ve not given this sort of thing much thought, but I want to be safe on the road.

I believe they sell taller bump/droop stops for the front that can help if that’s the problem. I’m lowered and had to get shorter ones out back. The 2” spacer is definitely as high as you’d want to go. If it doesn’t show itself go to a suspension shop that installs lifts. I’m sure they’ve seen just about everything.
