Went home and got some work done on it last night after work. I programmed the key fob he gave me with it but it only works with the drivers door so Im thinking its not the right one but at least now I have 1 door I can unlock with key fob. I put a new cooling bypass cap on the radiator and topped off the coolant that leaked out. Put on some new wipers and put in a 12 oz can of Freon for the A/C. The compressor now kicks in but I think I need quite a bit more Freon to get the air to cool off so I will have to add some more tonight. I also changed the oil on it as he hadn't done it in a while. Old oil was dark but no signs of wear that I could see. Put in some Meijer synthetic oil that was buy 2 jugs get 1 free in case anyone has a Meijer by them. Still have a few things to do like tires and alignment but then I should be able to drive her around.

i’d put the alignment at the bottom of the list until you’re sure the front end is solid. An honest shop will tell you though if there’s something wrong first.
I picked up a ‘99 in similar condition this year and still slowly identifying and fixing worn out items. Nothing major, just seals and bushings at 20 yrs old!

I have a 98 2 door 4wd with the push button and auto 4wd feature. The solder joints on the lights apparently go bad after years of use. Mine would not light up (2wd) unless l pushed on the outer perimeter of the switch. It would always shift when I wanted to go the 4 high or 4 low. Pushing on the perimeter of the switch would get the 2wd light to come on but only for a short while. I pulled the switch down and reflowed all the solder joints on the circuit board and the lights are working properly again. Nice rig by the way! On my rig, the upper and lower ball joints, idler arm and pitman arm went south after 200k miles. I changed all that out with Moog parts from RockAuto. My steering and suspension is good to go. Except for my new leaking Redhead steering gearbox. Crap, always something...
