Just so I feel better about it, does the alignment of the sunroof in the attached pictures look normal? I did not take a picture of the glass from the outside and now I am thinking that the back is sitting higher than it probably should be.
I took out my sunroof yesterday so I could drop off the sunshade to be reupholstered and marked the height of the slots on each of the four tabs before removing the glass. Upon reinstalling this afternoon I made sure everything was aligned inside to the best of my ability using those markings on the tabs and sunroof track/bracket (it looks impossible to install the glass backwards). I tested everything out and all looked good during the open/close/vent cycles but the back just seemed to sit a little higher. I ran a hose over the entire sunroof in a spray to mimic rain for several minutes and opened the sunroof again to check the seal: there were a few water streaks in the front drain channel and one larger (quarter sized) drop on the rear drain channel. I am speculating that the water drop in the back was from opening the sunroof and that the water in the front drain channel was there from the seal test. Is this normal?
Thanks!
I've just heard too many horror stories about sunroofs; this is my first vehicle with a sunroof so I want to be very cautious that I am not missing something. The manual states to have the front 1 mm below the surface and the rear 1 mm above, which is more than I have but if it seals then I don't want to mess with it.
