So true. I had a slammed S10 Xtreme and when I made some hood struts and ditched that prop rod, It was almost like not having a hood at all.

Getting to the underside of our lowered trucks is why we have 2-post lifts for our garages, right?
I wish. Actually I wish I could even get my truck INTO my garage. It was built in the fifties so IDK why it’s so damn small. It’s not like cars were smaller back then.

Dibs on the pin and maybe overdrive servo if you're not gonna do anything with it.
Well what I meant was I'm not home as I'm out on a job and it probably arrived at home.
So I'll be installing the stuff at the first opportunity.

Lol

I read it as you had one at one point and weren't sure if it was even still around, like you never used it and forgot about it.

Let us know how it goes.

Will do. I've installed the same parts many times over the years.

Any chance you've taken note of the amount of travel in the stock parts before disassembling and swapping the parts?

I still haven't heard back from Oregon Performance.

What are you trying to ask them? Did you read the article I linked? They talk about the travel.

I read it a few times, actually.
I'm waiting to hear back if they sell the long pin separately and total price shipped. It's $22.49 as an add-on to the servo, but I already have the servo.

I guess it comes down to me being willing to pay $22 for this sort of stuff and not $70.

Hmmm... Depending on where the extra length is, maybe I can be super thrifty (or ghetto?) and weld the tip of my stock pin and file it down so that the servo has that recommended 1/16" of travel. Sounds like something I'd try. Or, if that end of the pin is in a socket, a simple 1/16" wafer cut from stainless rod stock would accomplish the same thing. Apparently, it's something that is never fully unloaded so the pressure would keep it in place.

All I can tell you is to check the travel. I've had a few where I needed the extra long Sonnex pin.
You could also go with the Extendo pin and grind it to length. That's around $8.00 + shipping.
If I go with the extendo I turn it on my lathe.

Gotcha. How much travel you got now?

Main thing is to check your travel and do what you need to bring it into specs.
I bought the long pin just in case as I have not checked travel at this time.
I figure I can fine tune the long pin on the lathe if I need to.
