Does a Denali AWD have G80?

I have a 2006 Yukon Denali. I have seen a bunch of conflicting info on the Denali AWD systems. I was originally under the impression that they do not have a true AWD. It is basically two "one wheel wonder" axles tied together by a transfer case that does the "slipping" But I have seen claims that the rear diff is actually a limited slip G80. The RPOs on the glove box tag do not list G80.

I'm curious because I was wondering if they did not have rear limited slip, would there be an advantage to finding a G80 and putting it in? If so, would I just look for a 3:73 G80 with disc brakes from a similar year Yukon or Suburban? Are there even disadvantages to doing this?

It's easy to clear up the Denali or Yukon .
Denali the computers your limited slip .
Yukon 4x4 they have the locking rearend ..
My Yukon has GT5 and G80 . 4:10 locker only to 20 mph [emoji106] it's only reason I have Yukon over a Yukon Denali. I like 2 wheel drive and 4 low . My 4 low must turn it in to a tractor with 4:10s. I never tried it yet.

@Joe yukon I'm no rock crawler, by any means, but I had an S10 Blazer with 4lo and 3.73s. Even then, it was a hoot. Felt like it jumped, when you stomped on it in 4lo. 4.10 would be even more fun.

My 05 tahoe has 4:10 g80. I used 4LO once, i thought i was gonna break u-joints when i gave it some gas! The power feels great, the T-case whines like crazy too.

The Guv Lock is not worth adding to any vehicle. It is a grenade waiting to happen and does not add traction over 20 mph. That said I have one I'll give to anyone wanting to pay shipping, includes bearings and races.

It tends to explode when you pull the pin. The thing with these units is that you have to go easy and engage them slow, if you stab the gas and they catch traction they tend to jihad them selves. Call me crazy but I got a new g80 when I did my rear end, I know it's not as good as a locker and not as strong, but i'll do just fine if you are gentle with them, its not like we are rock crawling or drag racing in our pig trucks, for that just get an lsd/locker. I wished our front ends were stronger though, there aren't lockers available for those because the case is too weak to take the torque.

I had heard or read at one time that the limited slip or the stability control is activated by the computer using the ABS system to control the individual wheels. Is that what you are referring to?
