I actually had to just go on Google to verify this because I was second guessing myself. I remember having a very long conversation with one of the guys from Texas Speed when I was selecting the LSA on the old MS4 cam. A 6* wider LSA could send the shift points up 300-500 RPMs depending on the top end components and exhaust.

So back to my original question, why do all of these companies spec their truck cams on a wide LSA?

Why don’t you ask them? You could talk to someone who grinds their own truck cams like Vinci like I suggested earlier or keep asking people here on the forum who have way less expertise. If you can’t get answers and technical info from who you’re buying your cam from then you’re buying from the wrong people. A good cam grinder will answer any question you throw at them. Roger Vinci answered at least a dozen emails from me regarding everything including a stall, my blower, lifters, rollers, pushrods and springs and how well it all would work with cam I chose. Let us know what you find out, and who you end up trusting to provide you with that information.
