Found a crack in my diff housing when I opened it up after my rear wheels started locking up on turns.
Crack was probably from a previous failure 8-10 years ago, I can't imagine I could cracked it.
Was advised to go for a replacement diff rather than repair the Gov Lock. Was replaced last week along with bearings seats etc.
Truck doesn't feel the same. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting 'clutch' while pulling away. Something felt like a gear change after turning right and pulling away quick Today doing the same it felt like the rear end twisted a bit. It feels strange sometimes and I don't think I like it.
Is the gov lock more direct? I know the Yukon has clutches but I thought that would only be for wheel slippage?
