Hi folks - before I go sifting through previous threads does anyone have any recommendations on deleting the autoride suspension from an '04 Burb? It looks like the rear shocks were replaced by the PO (with OEM autoride compliant units) but I am pretty sure the compressor is gone and the front shocks look like they might be original. I'd like to delete the system altogether with off the shelf parts (the Arnott option is way too expensive for my taste) and I don't really care about the dash fault codes. I tow a small camper in the summer and plan a lengthy road trip this year, I'd like to get something sorted before hitting the road. Thanks for anu suggestions.

I just replaced mine with regular old shocks before I lowered my truck. Cost me $170 for all four regular shocks on Rock Auto and I just pulled the fuse for autoride. No lights and no more autoride. Lol. Different shocks fit just fine, I just cut and capped the harness since I'll never do anything else with it.

Just an FYI if you pull the fuse, disconnect your negative battery cable, pull fuse, reconnect negative. Turn ac on full blast, it'll blow cold, hot, super hot, cold again. Then you're all good!
If you have auto leveling don't forget coil springs in the back. For about $80 you can get manual fill airbags if you want to keep your ride level with your trailer in tow. Everyone likes different shocks, I like KYB Monomax. Good luck!

doesnt your "service suspension" light come on when you pull the fuse?
I have an 02 Escalade with the same exact story. Using it to pull a camper, PO replaced rear shock, etc... I've contacted Arnott, Airlift, Suncore, etrailer... So far no one has a definitive setup to go to. I don't care if I have to manually adjust the rear ride height just as long as I can do it.

Thanks for the recommendations and advice ... looks like I am going to go with the Arnott value kit, I can get it shipped to Canada from RockAuto for a decent price. It comes with shocks for all four corners and a set of stiffer springs. From what I have read lots of guys are pretty satisfied with this setup.
