I disagree that the problem is the battery.

When diagnosing my problem last winter (2017), one of the first things I did was test the existing battery with a voltmeter. Volts never dropped below reasonable levels upon starting the vehicle (or remote starting it).

All the same, I replaced the battery with a AutoCraft Platinum H7 850CCA from Autozone. Voltage testing improved marginally, likely because my prior battery was fine. Additionally, I hard wired a NOCO Genius 4 amp 1 bank charger into the engine bay, and kept the vehicle plugged in to power every single time I parked it outside my garage.

The problem persisted despite the upgrade to the battery as well as making sure charge was properly maintained (overkill, as this is a daily driver that goes for 40-minute drives every weekday morning and afternoon, with longer ones on weekends...absolutely no reason to require a charger).

I found a workaround to the alarm sounding:

Perform the normal remote start. This is achieved by arming the alarm and pressing the remote start button. Once the Yukon turns on, I press the unlock button on the fob. I have not had the alarm sound after the remote start using this method. I don't like that my car is sitting outside with doors unlocked, but at least I'm not waking up my neighbors.

There is some sort of issue with the car alarm getting tripped at the exact moment the remote start 10-minute timer ends and the engine shuts off. Maybe a vibration, or some other electrical gremlin. I'm not sure - but I'm done trying to find it after all the stuff I tried in this thread ;)
Burn it, prob solved. ;)

Do all of your alarm issues happen after the 10 mins? Mine happens intermittently but always happens at the exact same time the engine starts without delay. Happens whether i use the onstar app or the physical remote. Plus my parking sensors are going haywire (parking sensors blocked, consult owners manual) and I get "service rear vision system" message occasionally. Battery was tested by autozone (found to be fine) and recharged via trickle charger just in case.

I agree as well it's not battery related yet again.. mine happens about 5 secs after the car turns off.. at some point when I got back in the car the first alert on my display say "theft attempt detected" so the alarm is tripping somehow and yes unlocking it will solve it as I got inside and waited and it shut off and nothing happened. Motion detection on or off doesnt affect the problem btw..

joining the rest of you out there.... i have a 2015 yukon xl denali.... thought i am the only having this problem but i guess i was wrong. here is my symptoms:

1. Siren goes off every time i use the remote start once the default 10 minutes are over and engine goes to sleep the siren is triggered !!!!

2. After driving the vehicle lets say for 30 - 45 min park it and use the remote to lock it (pressing twice on the remote fob) alarm will be triggered within minutes !!!! pressing the unlock and then locking it again alarm will go off again....

3. Vehicle is parked on the driveway and no rain or snow or anything .... alarm will sound in the middle of the night 2 am or so... happened several occasions again after pressing the unlock and locking it again using the remote.

The only way i am managing around it is to press the unlock button and leave it unlocked. What i noticed is the vehicle locks itself afterward on its own when i walk away and that's been ok so far. I only had one instance where the alarm went off at night using this method. When I enter the vehicle i see that "Theft attempt" message on instrument cluster display.

I owned the vehicle since OCT 2018... following service been done to it and of course at the stealership:
  • Front Shocks
  • Sunroof Seal
  • Front windshield
inspected all locks and rear windshield side ... and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary ! however one thing grabbed my attention that similar to a previous post where someone mentioned their heated seats does not run with the remote start evern though i verified that i have this option checked the seats are always cold. but they run fine once i am and the vehicle is running. please share if any of you tried something new...

Mine turned out to be the cable that connects the rear windshield defroster, are either of those disconnected or loose or possibly coming off the window?

Oh boy, looks like I'm not the only one with this. 2015 Denali XL.

My alarm goes off as soon as I do the remote start (hit lock, hold the circle button on the fob. alarm goes off until I hit unlock.)

I'll have to check the battery and the defroster cables.

haha over a year later and no answer found.. I can say my rear defroster has never worked.. and i had checked and cables are plugged in and all seems fine but i could steam up the window with my hot breath and will never see the heat from the defroster work, it would just stay there.. guessing this trips the alarm somehow? going to keep digging into this and report back..

Alright guys.. problem solved. rear defroster plug wasn't making connection. its part of the alarm system as if someone broke your rear glass.

so anyone having this issue its to do with one of the defroster tabs falling off which is pretty common, fix it and the alarm issue goes away.. i just did it and over 50 remote starts with the issue and now its gone!
