Does anyone else drive around with their back right seat down?

I wouldn't call that "no problem" considering they literally had to remove pieces and grind off part of the metal. It's clearly not designed to be removed on a 2013, which is why I just drive around with my back right seat down so when I need to look over my shoulder I can see out the window and not look at a headrest.
they didnt cut it to remove it as even in the picture its already out of the seat when they cut it and in the beginning of the post they tell you how to remove the headrest. they cut it to give the headrest a middle setting between all the way down and too high.

they only ground off the metal to keep the headrest up an inch, that had nothing to do with removing the headrest, you guys just wanted to remove it and this is how you can do it. I actually did something similar to my nbs headrest because I wanted it at a specific height and had to make a notch.
Well If I can ever get my hands on a set of third row headrests, I will try to swap them out using this method

The backseat headrests creating blind spots was the primary reason I wired my backup camera with the option to be on while driving. Helps a lot during lane changes.

Actually, I think the seats backs also kind of block part of the view.

I never liked that my second row seats' headrests can't be removed. Before I sold my third row seats, I tried to switch the headrests between the two rows, since the third row headrests are very low profile. The second row passenger side seat's headrest completely fills up the rearmost window on the right side of the truck, so when I look over my shoulder I can't see anything out that window. My solution is to just have the seat down at all times, unless somebody actually needs to sit there. I got the idea from watching some hypermiling YouTube video with a GMT800 Tahoe and the guy had that seat lowered. Then yesterday I was browsing craigslist just for fun and I saw a Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade (can't remember which) for sale with the back right seat down, and it made me think, does everybody do this?

I drive around with the entire 2nd row down for 2 reasons. The unobstructed view and ease of access cargo. I fly fish a lot so I keep my boots and waders right behind my drivers seat. Very convenient to access. The unobstructed view and no blind spots in one of the things I really like about my 02 Yukon. Bought my wife a 2015 4runner and that thing is riddled with blind spots to a point I hate driving it. The biggest blind spot is cause by the 2nd row headrests.

In my 08 Avalanche I took out the headrests and used a grinder to cut a notch in the last grove of the headrest. This allows you to pull out the headrests without the need to have a paper-clip in hand. Made life folding down the seats to having extra back window clearance while towing/load much better.

Since it is only me and my 2 dogs in the Yukon 90+% of the time, I removed my 3rd row seats and hung them on the garage ceiling, and my 2nd row seats are rolled forward.

I found a perfect "Headrest Removal Tool". I also need a pin to poke into that stupid little hole..

In my tool box I found the tool you use to adjust 'pop-up' lawn sprinklers. It's perfect.

You can get them cheap at a sprinkler parts place ( maybe Home Depot?)

So I don't loose it, I tie-wrap it to my 2nd seat rail.

When I get home I'll post a picture.

The fingers in tool allows for strong pressure to push into pin hole.

On my 2017 Yukon there is a push button just under the seat material next to the headrest post that can be pushed through the material to remove the 2nd seat headrest. With the head rest up you should be able to easily feel the push button.

GM invented the ultimate solution back in 2017, it just hasn’t made its way to Yukon and Tahoe/Suburban yet. In my 2017 Escalade I have a rear view camera that pipes in video from a rear camera. It’s great, and wide angle; I can see a ton more than I can with the regular rear mirror. And best of all, you can totally load up the rear with gear literally to the ceiling and still see perfectly behind you. (You can actually switch back and forth between the mirror and the video camera just to be clear).

I hear that the next generation (2020) Yukon/Tahoe’s will get this same technology.
