Not sure what you mean by "lock in".

I had HID high beams and LED low beams in my '03 Tahoe. When switching from low to high it took a good eight to ten seconds for the HIDs to warm up. Not great. Then I realized I should have bought an assembly with the projector lens low beams. The projector beams work great and I rarely felt the need to switch to high beams.

Later I installed the relay kit that keeps the low beams on when you switch to high beams. That was awesome.

When I update the Yukon, I'll use LEDs for high and low, projector lens, and the relay kit.

Get one of these. If you have hids you wont have to worry about warm up time as it turns on the highs and leaves the lows and fogs on.

Do you have a part number? Amazon? Had LEDs in the Depo projectors and I thought the output was crap (couldn't see anything even after adjusting - looked great on the garage door but daaaaark on the road) What HIDs would you recommend? Thanks again everyone!

Yea for 100% function hids are the only option. Leds will look great and appear bright but you will have dark spots. Halogens (PIAAs , silverstars) are OK at best. That applies to ALL projector lights.

I get my hids locally that are made in-house. $150 a set with lifetime warranty. But of course theres morimoto, acme, opt7, xentec, ddm, etc.
