Dashboard lights won't dim

My dashboard lights went to full bright and now will not dim.
Makes no difference if headlights are on or DRL
Any ideas?
FYI 2017 Yukon SLT 3,300 miles

Put black tape over the sensor in the middle front of the dash, let it stay that way for a about 5 minutes. Try it out...

IIRC, there are 2 or 3 different light sensors in there. One of yours may have gone south.

Thanks for the info. It stayed on high for the rest of the afternoon and Bam! It started to work again. Really weird was on the way to the coast and most of the afternoon it would not work. Glad it cleared up and the drive home in the dark.
