Thinking about getting the new OEM 6.2L badges that come on the 2019 Silverados... It's GM PN 84192174. If I were to go through with it, I'd either remove the Tahoe script on the doors and put them there or I would put just one on the liftgate where the flexfuel badge was. I'm kinda conflicted though for a few reasons:
  1. The new badge doesn't use the exact same typeface as the GMT900 trucks. It's not super obvious, but it's also not super hard to tell.
  2. I hate badge posers (people who put AMG badges on their C250, people who stick ///M badges on their 320i, etc.) and even though I technically wouldn't be one, I would almost look like one.
Ultimately the only way to tell L9H Tahoes apart from the rest is the exhaust resonator, and I kinda want to identify mine as a 6.2L in an explicit but still subtle way. What do y'all think?

Having two different fonts on one panel would drive me crazy. I thnk if you have to do it, the doors are the better option.

I like the idea of the fact that your tahoe is a sleeper tahoe. No one knows that it has a 6.2 until you step on it and blow them out of the water! :D
I’ve seen my generation truck with a 6.0 badge on it, don’t know where it came from as I’ve never seen it on any other GMT800 vehicle and it certainly doesn’t look like a factory badge. Lol. But I’m not particularly a fan. It’s like saying “hey I want everyone to know I have a big engine and I want to be flashy and a show off.” Just my .02....
with that being said if you are gonna do the badge, I agree with his statement

Having two different style fonts on the tailgate would irritate the heck out of me and would stick out like a sore thumb, making it obvious to people looking on that the badging isn’t the same and one does not belong. So i agree, put the 6.2 badges on the doors if you’re gonna do it.

I'm also torn between the sleeper look, vs having a little advertisement for my 09 Tahoe L9H. I have removed all of the grocery strips and LTZ badges from mine. Since I have dark tint my hoe looks like a undercover cop until you notice the wheels. There are ONLY 2 ways to know my Tahoe has a 6.2 from just looking at it, but probably only 20 people in the world would know what those ways are....
1.) The big single tailpipe straight out of the back (the Hi Hoes do have something similar though).
2.) The most noticeable.. the 9.5" rear differential. NO other Tahoe in the GMT-900 will have one, not even the Hi Hoe.
My conflict mainly has to do with the exhaust. I love true duals, hidden under the rear bumper, where you can't see anything. If I do that to mine, that 'big pipe out the back' visual aide to show fellow motorheads that my hoe is packing a 6.2 would be gone, however you'd hear that it's definitely not a 5.3
Obviously I'll always have the 9.5" rear differential back there, so one visual thing would remain that wouldn't be noticed much. I like the sleeper option, but part of me thinks it's also cool if someone spots me on the road and says, wow...that's a 6.2 Tahoe..

Go for it! Is the script used on the 6.2 badge the same as the latest Tahoe's script?

I definitely appreciate the de-badged look. More respect as a sleeper.

Now, when I was looking at the 8.1L burb, I can't say I didnt start looking for 8.1/496 badges :D
