I have a 2013LTZ with Bose premium sound, Nav and rear entertainment, and can't get the IR headphones to work. I just got the vehicle and the headphones were never used and still in the package. I put new batteries in each headphone, the power light comes on and have tried switching from #1 to #2 and still have no sound. The headphone icon is lit on the main unit display and can get audio when I hard wire traditional headphones into the rear controls headphone jack.
Also, I'm not sure, but is the IR lights on the rear of the DVD screen supposed to light up, because they aren't lighting up.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I would love to get the headphones to work for the kiddos on long trips.

The headphones I have do light up when they are powered on. They are aftermarket, not sure if that makes a difference.

Make sure you are not too far forward past the DVD screen or the headphones loose signal

the lights on the side of the overhead lcd screen system light up when the system is on, if you are in doubt if the ir led's are on or not then turn on your camera phone and point it towards the led area, ifra-red spectrum is invisible to the human eye but not to a camera, if they are on you will be able to see them lit up thru the camera
