Hello all! I have a 07 Tahoe and Im about to level it out.
I've seen people use both upper strut spacers and lower strut spacers, and now I've seen people use a mixture of upper and lower front strut spacers to achieve there overall level.
Are there any advantages to using both upper and lower spacers?
(I was just going to use a CCM front 2.5" upper and a 1.5 rear spacer.) I know its harder to install the upper spacer style, but it seams more sturdy than just the lower strut spacer style.

Any input would be highly appreciated.
I do wonder off road quite a bit up here in Alaska...

You can go bigger with an upper strut spacer. I wouldn't go any thicker than about a 1"-1.25" spacer (about 2"-2.5" lift) on the bottom. I'm running a 2/1 lift, which is a 1" thick lower spacer (2" lift) and 1" coil spring (1" lift-obviously) spacer. No problems at all.

Running both is really just for more lift.

Im still confused. While shopping for kits I see them with just the lower strut spacer, just the upper strut spacer, or a mixture of both.

Thank you! It's at stock height in my sig pic. Pretty sure I have lifted pics in my build thread.

Using upper and lower spacers allows you to use smaller spacers instead of one giant spacer. It's also due to what will fit. The studs on the upper strut mount are long enough to fit a thin spacer. But, if you want more lift, you're gonna need the type that's comprised of two plates. The strut bolts to the bottom plate and the top plate has it's own studs that bolt to the frame mount. So, there's a considerable size gap from one type to the other. If you want a lift that falls in the middle of that gap, you gotta split it up. I really wouldn't give it much thought beyond deciding how much lift you want and keeping the lower spacer to a maximum of 1" thick (2" lift). If you want more than 2" of front lift, go with the upper strut spacer.

No worries. It's a message board, sporadic replies are expected!
