I think I should try and find a 98 or there about so I get the newer interior and I believe they came with a 4l60e then... would be an easy 6.0 LS swap.

Given the age, anything is possible but I wouldn’t say that a catastrophic failure of a transfer case is common on these. I’d have a shop diagnose it if it’s a real contender; it could just be a flaky actuator.

1995 up have the newer interior. I had a new 95 2 door. Power was a little light. My existing 1999 was quite a bit better. With the new GM crate HT383E it is great.
