Has anyone had this problem?

It happens to me sometimes when I'm driving on the highway in the left lane with a grass median to my left, then I'll approach an overpass so there's a concrete median for a bit and the light will come on. That's all fine, because there is now a 3 foot tall concrete wall along side me, but the light will stay on for a while after the concrete median is gone. It will stay on for a mile or two before turning off.

Are the sensors going wonky? Are there invisible alien spaceships flying along side of me that I can't see?

I would say give them a good cleaning, clean off any dirt. mud, etc that may be caked on or around the sensor area and behind the bumper cover where the sensor actually mounts to the bumper cover.

What Wes said.

IIRC, I read that they periodically "learn" their environment and adjust as a self-calibration tecnique. I may be mixed up from other info, but cleaning them would be a start. Maybe do it in an open area with the key off just in case they actually do calibrate upon key-on.

My Yukon Denali does the exact thing when I'm pulling my enclosed motorcycle trailer. My best guess is the proximity sensors are picking up some part of the trailer ie: the polished aluminum rock guard on the front of the trailer or the polished aluminum fenders. That's my best guess however I wouldn't rule out the invisible alien explanation.

The other day I was driving down the highway in the inside lane and when the concrete median started on the left my blindspot warning came on. I navigated the menus on the DIC and turned it off. The light in the mirror turned off, then I turned the system back on and the light didn't come back on even though I was still along side the median. It seems to be working normal now and it hasn't given me any false alerts when driving along side a median yet!
