It's been along time since I've posted. But always keeping an eye on the current generation.

I like to purchase end of model year vehicles for the most part because of past experiences. I traded my slightly modified 13 Yukon Denali XL on a fully optioned 19 Suburban RST performance package.

What is the first thing too look for on these things as far as upgrades? I have floor liners on the way and oem mudflaps ordered. Expel paint protection is being installed also.

The one thing that bothers me the most are the halogen lows and fogs!

BTW I never have sat in the current generation let alone rode in one... I pick it up Saturday. I'll post some pics when I get it.

Wow, not only buying sight unseen but model undriven. Bold move!

Change the fogs. That’s an easy and, IMO, necessary cosmetic upgrade. Expel ultimate is awesome. I didn’t do my entire yukon (did entire hood, from panels, lower panels and real gate). Next time I’m going to bit the bullet and do the entire vehicle.

Good luck!

Lol
Where’s the fire?

I’d drive it 3-6 months before touching a thing.

Wow, the RST has the halogens? I'd have guessed it would have gotten the HIDs from the LTZ. The stock halogen bulbs are really awful.

Easy 20-minute upgrade.

I initially did these Sylvania High Performance Halogen bulbs, which were about 50% brighter than the stock bulbs. $55 on Amazon.

One bulb blew at about 22 months in, which I did understand to be the expectation. I replaced them both recently with this Hikari LED kit. Can't speak to longevity yet, but the bulbs fit right in, create no error codes, and throw nice bright white light.

Either of these is a worthy low-touch improvement.

^edit - these are the lows; I haven't done the fogs.

I wanted something low key. The Denali treated me so well. All I did for repairs was replace the shocks . I'll never tune again though. It made the driveline very sloppy over 286000km of hard shifting.

The RST had everything I wanted and more. Similar optioned Denalis were about 2000 - 3000 more

What fog light LEDs are most people using? I have Diode Dynamics SL1 for the high beams.

I have the RST with the Performance package also. I removed the stock air intake "box" and replaced it with an AirRaid tube and filter. The Junior model which keeps the stock filter housing. It really cleaned up the engine compartment. And it only takes 15 minutes to put back on if i need to for service.

Thanks I'll look into it! I just ordered the Morimoto XB led fogs and Range Technology AFM Disable. I still haven't picked my RST up yet. I wasn't happy with the expel application. I pick it up min a couple days.
