I'm needing to replace my front and rear shocks on my 05 2WD Tahoe and am needing some recommendations. I never take it off road and am really just wanting to get the ride quality back close to how it was new. According to my build sheet I have the SW7 suspension chassis package. I can get the original equipment ACDelco 540182 front shocks for 112.79 each from rock auto which isn't to bad, but the rear original equipment shocks ACDelco 580354 are 240.79 each. Should I do OEM front shocks and use another brand that's cheaper for the rear, bite the bullet and replace them all with OEM, or is there another brand someone can recommend that's cheaper and will give me close to the same ride quality as the OEM shocks? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

I’m gonna assume that’s actually ZW7, which means it’s a special “auto-leveling” shock in the rear, hence the added cost. Replacing with any brand will be similarly expensive.

I suggest to start here:

My personal suggestion is to convert to Z71 rear suspension, and add Bilstein 5100 on all 4 corners. Doing that made my older Tahoe ride like a caddy on road, and behave itself off road or in rough conditions without trouble.
