Hey guys.
My battery was old and having a hard time starting my 2005 Yukon, so I bought another one and put it in this morning.

Now, my factory remote, when I press the Door Unlock button, will flash the lights like usual, but it doesn't unlock the doors anymore.

Has this happened to anyone else? What should I check? I'm clueless when it comes to remotes.

Thanks for your help

could maybe be a bad relay that finally took a dump when he new battery was put in, does it still lock the doors and arm security? can you hear any clicking noise? you could try keeping a window down and then use the remote while listening real close to see if you can hear it trying to engage, just an idea

What year and model? Have you tried reprogramming through the DIC?

Where should I hear the clicking noise? Under the hood or in the passenger area?

I think on the 2005 there is a relay for the door locks on the left side of the dash flush with the door, but I could be wrong, you may want to google it for more information, usually they run about $5-6.00 at most auto parts stores, but I think if the relay was bad you would also have trouble unlocking/locking when using the button inside as well.

There is a battery in there you could replace. By the ring part, theres a small indention you can use a thin coin to open. My fob battery is too scratched up to read the number, and I know they had at least two different fobs, so not sure if they are the same battery. A quick search found 4 batteries for less than $5.

Not sure if your battery was weak, but just to throw something off the wall out there: You might have a stronger battery voltage, now your receiver is more powerful, and needs a stronger transmitter.. (TO BE COMPLETELY HONEST, this is just me trying to come up with SOME REASON, and this could be completely stupid), but I do want to say I have heard something like this before, where they replaced the fob battery after replacing the main battery and it worked.

The buttons on the door lock and unlock the doors just fine
