Search doesn't seem to be working. Can it fit with the window up?

Thanks

One fits just right in my suburban.
I would think you need an extend-a-bed attachment for your hitch.

The Tahoe is only a few inches short of 4x8. An extend-a-bed attachment isn't going to solve the problem.

I think the answer depends on what kind of 4x8 you are transporting. If the finish of the material isn't critical, I'd let the lift gate rest on the 4x8 material and secure it with ratchet straps. (Bungee chords will only stretch and allow the door to bounce on your 4x8s.) The only issue I have is where to fit the ratchet straps. I suppose you could open the window and strap it through and around the window opening to one of the tie-downs.

I have put lighter 4x8 materials extending through the rear window, but I don't like to in case it damages the seal. It is a fairly tight fit. The roof rack is probably the best option, if the weather's good.

i actually hauled i want to say 14' sheets of drywall in my 94 suburban with barn doors. i actually layed a pallet down at the end of the truck and used 2 ratchet strap to hold the end of pallet up to support the end of the drywall. ya it wasn't the smartest idea but when your buddy calls and tell you he needs this stuff today for a job. then the guy who was supposed to haul it bails. so you just show up and getrdone. he also paid me for my time but either way its possible.

If I hauled just one, then I have left the back glass open, padded the gasket, and tied the board down to cargo loops in rear corners of the cargo space. More than two, I use my roof rack and ratchet straps front and rear.
