it will if you have a stock separate single disc cd or cassette player, my 00 Yukon had a factory cassette deck in the lower part of the center console.
also if you have the cassette deck you can just buy one of those cassette adapters off ebay for probably $5 and just use that and no need to yank anything out.

FYI, this guy has an OBS, and no matter how many posts I tell him he will get better answers in the OBS section, he keeps posting in NBS.

So not sure, why he would want this, and not just upgrade his head unit for a little more, and all the other improvements it will add. Not sure if he has another media drive (cassette or CD) in his vehicle.

to answer your question, its a 2000 and by the description of this forum, its where im sposed to be....

as for head unit, 35 bux is WAY cheaper than the 200 it would be for the HU id like to have, im not gonna settle for a 60 hong kong brand that glitches once a week....
and lastly i have the separate cd player and console cd changer...so this add-on would be great till i can save up the money to get the HU i want to have

Just FYI, he is right about where you're posting. 2000 is a weird year. Most trucks went to the GMT800 aka new body style (NBS, the 2000-2006 section of the forum). The Tahoe Limited, Z71, and Yukon Denali, however, remained GMT400 trucks with the old body style (OBS, 1991-1999 section of the forum).

yeah the forum is wrong. 2000 was a split year. The forum should be 1991-2000.

I'd get a $100 head unit, used off Clist or ebay for $40, and then get a better head unit down the road, but that's me. Not sure what head unit you want, but I'm already seeing black Friday deals for head units that are $100 down to $65. There should be a few more soon, if you know which sites to keep an eye on. Not sure if you have a specific head unit in mind, but the $200 head units are $200 because they can usually do 50w x 4 RMS (which keeps you from buying an small amp for slightly louder speakers, if that's what your goal is.

Excellon is Kenwoods better model line. They are nice, but just curious about why you want this specific one. I didn't search Kenwoods site, but it doesn't look like this one has navigation, or any video screen. It looks like its a double din touch screen. You can get all these features and more in a single din for $100. Most of the single dins will have a front side USB input. Just to make sure, this is an audio input device. This will not allow you to add an amplifier. What other audio input source are you trying to add? If you do add any amplifier to your factory head unit, you will not have the function "time alignment". Which means any speakers coming through your amplifier could be slightly delayed throwing off the sound.

MY OPINION HERE, (so feel free to blow this off): I don't like the 7" touch screens. The 6.2"-6" double dins will have a few buttons on or knobs on the side to make it easier to do some of the basics like change track/station or change the volume easier by feel, so you don't hit the wrong button on a touch screen or need to divert your eyes to find it. Not sure if you have steering wheel controls or not. Was there any specific function or reason for this specific model? Not trying to change your mind, just throwing out some questions that might help get you where you want to go.

Heres a few I can think of off the top of my head. Most will have weekly deals, specials, clearance, open box (returned may or may not be new). Not sure how flexible you are on which one you want.
Crutchfield.com
woofersetc.com
parts-express.com
pacificstereo.com
techronics.com

Also for electronics
Frys.com ( I have found stuff here that was out of stock/discontinued EVERYWHERE ELSE before). They also have some good weekly and daily deals if you share with them your email.
