I ordered a set of keys and fob off amazon, hopefully they work.

I also ordered an obd2 module that supposedly will act as a tech2 tool, that should let me program these at home I hope.
Home depot cut mine.. they had no way to charge me since I didn't have a key(cutting is free with key purchase) so the guy didn't charge me, I even offered to buy a key, said don't worry about it. as for the FOBs I was able to program them with the DIC

I am interested to here your review of this as well. The guy in the other thread mentioned it being kind of a pain to get setup and working.

I’ll post up my thoughts when I get it. I read through all the amazon reviews and I think I’ve got a handle on the process. Will try and do it this weekend.

I think 2010 was the last year you could do them in the DIC, except for certain vehicles that were sold as fleet vehicles.

I think I finally got the software for it sorted and installed. Wasn't overly difficult, just a bit fiddly.

Haven't plugged it up to the truck yet, hope to do that one evening this week, or maybe this weekend.

edit:
I found a local locksmith to cut my keys to match and program my remotes. In and out quickly, and the price for all of it was what the dealer wanted to program a single remote (and they didn't want to program my remotes, wanted me to buy theirs...). Not cheap, but cheap enough that I'm good with it.

All of my steering components have arrived, I'm going to have a fun Saturday putting all this stuff in. Hopefully I don't run into any issues getting the old control arms out.

Hey all,

I've been lurking for a while as we slowly hunt for the 'right' vehicle for us. Finally found one that week, went and picked it up today. It's a high-miles 2011 in White Diamond w/Cashmere interior, but the price was right and this is only a weekend/toyhauler/take the pups up to the woods vehicle for us. The wife and I are keeping our sedans for dailys, so I'm not worried if the 'burb needs some work. Father in law (an actual mechanic) came along, gave it a looking over, and gave us a thumbs up, so for now I'm happy :)

A few things I'd like to ask the group:
-I'd like to pick up a cargo area shade, but I'm a bit confused as to which version I need. I have a power gate with a cashmere interior, so I think that means I need 15213369, right?
https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/index.php?p=catalog&mode=****&scatgrp=interior&scatsubgrp=security

-Anyone have any fit experiences (pros or cons) with the Weathertech floor mat products?

-The 'burb only had one key and remote, so I need to pick up another. Does anyone have any idea how badly a dealer is going to rip me for a set, or should I buy a set off amazon and try and find someone with a scanner to program the remote? I think I can do the key if I've had it cut, but I'm not sure if the remote can be done with anything except a tech2 scanner.

-I'm considering a BB tune. They will be in ATL in the near future, so not that bad of a drive for me. Is the onsite worth the extra hassle vs the ship-it-to-me tune? How much time would I need to block off for the on-site?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get to know her... I'll try and get some pictures up once the weather clears and the sun comes out.

I was in a similar situation. Just purchased a High Mileage 2012 Tahoe Z71 and just started to begin the maintenance of the fluids. I had the car fax report so I had a good idea of the vehicles history before buying it and all the fluids have been changed multiple times. It really shows in this truck. It feels more like it has 20K miles rather than 143K. I just read about your needing the transmission, although that isn't what you would hope for, at least you will be getting one big potential problem with high mileage truck out of the way.
