Auto dimming rear view mirror

Sorry if this has already been asked, I'm new to the site

I just bought an '18 Tahoe LS and hate the flip rear view mirror. Is it possible to switch to the auto dimming mirror?

Your dealer parts department should be able to tell you. You will need to provide your VIN.

Yes, it is possible. Unfortunately, the dealer will most likely advise that it’s not possible. You’ll need to add four wires to the mirror connector and land them in the X61A junction block (3 wires) and X51L fuse block (1 wire). Both are located on the driver’s side dash area. @pgamboa on GM-trucks.com now has an add-on harness for this mod that makes it easy to do.

Here’s the link to pgamboa’s post. Granted it’s on a truck, but I’ve checked the circuits and their positions on the connectors and they are the same for the suvs.
