Im having a little trouble with this one and looking for some help. I have a 99 tahoe lt 162,000 on the clock. Not really much done to the truck in fact mostly stock except for slightly oversize tires and thats very slight. anyway I just had a idler arm installed and now the truck seems to over steer on entrance ramp onth the highway . only makeing lt turns. it feel like the lt frt tire is trying to turn farther than the right. it then cycles back out and trys to do it again. once out of the turn every thing is fine . truck drives straight an an arrow. brakes fine. When turning to the right every thing is just perfect. when making gradual lt turns around 20 mph it starts to try and over steer but not near as bad as at exit speeds. I should mention I had a steering box installed about a year ago but the problem seamed to surface sfter the idler arm was installed. Had a couple shops look at it no one seams to know what causing the problem. Cked ath ball joints and steering components and nothing found . There is about 3/4 " movement in the tires side to side indicating slight play in the steering box. but everyone says that wont cause the problem im having. it would seem that if that was a issue the truck would grab the lines on the highway and it dont.

Im just curious if anyone has ran across this problem before and what they did to correct the problem.

Thanks in advance
Rick

Can you clarify what you’re seeing here?

If one wheel is jacked up and rocked sideways by holding at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, is the tire rocking in and out 3/4-inch? If so, look for what linkage joint is moving and what isn’t.

How do the tires look? Any cupping or bad wear on one side?
