So I'm planning to upgrade my brakes and regear next, then new paint. Looking for suggestions..

The stock brakes with these 20x12 988's and 33" Nitto Ridge Grapplers just don't feel safe. I've had the brakes to the floor on the HWY and thank god the dude in front of me didn't brake more or I would have hit him. Too much wheel diameter and mass for stock brakes. So I'm thinking about going Wilwood-16" slotted rotors and 6 piston calipers up front, 4 in rear. But I'm also planning on going with steel lines and converting to hydroboost. My question is, is this total overkill? I'm looking for both high performance & safety, and I don't mind a bit of overkill, but is this just a waste of money?

BTW while I'm at it I'm planning on regearing front and rear to 4.56 Yukon ring & pinion and swapping the G80 in the back with a TruTrac. I do drive on the HWY but I care about performance more than gas mileage.

Lastly, looking for a paint shop in the NYC, Northern NJ area if anyone has any recommendations.

Hydroboost and nnbs upgrade with better pads should be plenty of brake for that setup.

Those 16" rotors arent necessary imo.

My truck stops very well with this setup.. stainless steel lines and r1 geomet drilled and slotted rotors running 295 30 24. Hydroboost is the key as it made a difference when I added it to a worn out brake setup.. i know that helpless feeling of the pedal going to the floor and not getting more grab. The harder you push with hydroboost the more they grab.

I've never driven a truck with Wilwoods but I would like to know the difference in a truck with just their BBK against mine. The price difference is significant, but my truck can stop pretty damn quick.

Hey man do you have some of the same pics with no lights on? And a little write up on how you did it and where you got the lights to fit all the spots.

Hydroboost on the left, vacuum assist on the right. Look behind your master cyclinder to see what u have.. although smaller, the hydroboost is able to provide more pressure to the master cylinder since it works off your power steering pump.. 2f6d81d09f6a215dda0b6476c394e878.jpg

If I don't have it I assume all trucks can be converted to this? Like if in doing the nnbs upgrade this would be a great time to do this also since fluid would be drained anyways?

Wow. You okay?

Yea I was able to exit my cruiser and check on the guy in the truck. He was uninjured and then I went to the lady that cut me off a d was able to pull her from her car. My cruiser ended up colliding with her drivers door so I had to rip her door off to get her out

I was responding to a 911 call as well.....

Well the nbs trucks can be converted. I converted mine. Also note the hydroboost works off power steering fluid so it doesn't share any fluid with your brake system. You bolt the hydroboost to the truck and connect the master cylinder to the hydroboost. U habe to replace your nrake pedal because the hydroboost sits at a different angle. You don't have to open the brake system at all. It's a good time to do it if the truck is going to be down anyway.
