Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the 2010 Threadlock Champion of the World. After over 9 years and 202,000 miles, I found it hidden on my own truck!

This bolt hadn't been removed since my Tahoe was assembled in late 2009, it's a caliper bracket bolt. To prove that, both assembly line speed washers were still holding both rear rotors on. By the time I had it out, I was lightheaded and in a cold sweat. When I finally had this bolt out and in my hand, I was slightly delusional and visualized it as a huge blue Marlin......who put up an epic fight for hours.

Apparently it's also not a good idea to exert so much energy immediately after eating General Tso's chicken, either. After an unexpected phone call on the porcelain megaphone, I got it back together.

If you haven't "been there" with the rear caliper bracket bolts, I was doing this on a jack/jackstand. There is no room to get a good turn with a breaker bar, and there isn't enough room to get a good spin with the double wrench technique. I might have been able to get a universal on with my impact gun, but I didn't feel like dying that way with the angle I would have been applying over 900ft/lb of torque through that joint. I turned wrenches for a living before, been there.......done that. I had to suck it up and turn it out by hand. Weird part, this is the only one that fought me. I'm pretty sure R2D2 had a power surge or something when he put this bolt in on the assembly line......

Open end with a big ass hammer, they always come right off. Now if you want the real thread lock champion, try removing your rear impact bar. I can’t tell you how many of those bolt heads break off (even when the trucks were new). Those things were locked down!

Call me when you need to remove a C5 corvette harmonic balancer crank bolt, that was fun.

Can't do the hammer trick, I've nearly lost so many fingers doing that. :)
this is my breaker bar, nothing has resisted it yet
No room for it! I have a huge breaker bar I couldn't even use.

I've removed countless crankshaft bolts on all different kinds of LS motors. This trumped all of them.

I have gotten that bar in some pretty tight spaces, it is big enough to choke up on even a large wrench and has room to turn at a angle, I agree it cant go everywhere, but you would be surprised all it takes is just enough to break it loose

Now that’s funny. I had the same issue on a front caliper bolt on a model yr ‘08 mfg in late ‘07 Tahoe. On jack stands & no room to swing a hammer. One person lying underneath (me) pushing & 1 person on top pulling. Unbelievably tight, so much so we stopped a couple times to make sure we weren’t tightening it! Crazy.
