Hi hope you all are good I haven't post in a while but I have a question some of you might be able to help. I have a 2008 GMC Yukon. 5.3 flex. I have notice that I been having a wet spot on passenger side behind the wheel on the inside. I thought it was oil but it's not. it's antifreeze. I haven't really checked thorough but could the heater core be leaking outside instead of inside ? I checked inside on the carpet nothing, all dry. I know there's hoses that go to the heater core , they don't look like they're wet though this weekend I'm going to check a little bit more thorough . any suggestions on what to look for also? Thank you in advance....

Yes, it could be the core. Check the T fittings at the firewall first.

Yes , I had looked at them hoses initially and seen nothing but I will definitely check again this weekend. Now, if they are not leaking, how and were would the core be leaking outside if it's inside of the truck. I mean I've known for them to leak inside the vehicle and make a mess of the rug but again, I checked the rug and it's pretty dry. Thank you again

It could potentially leak out at the A/C drain location. The heater core and A/C evaporator share the same housing.

Gotcha, so it don't necessarily have to leak inside? It could be leaking out that tube and still be the heater core? I take it, it's very costly to replace on these trucks..

Are you sure it’s antifreeze? It sure looks like AC condensation dripping. That’s right where it drips.

Agree with @Rocket Man. Does your rear AC work? If not, may be freon leak. Smell it, if it smells sweet, its antifreeze. But looks like condensation from the drain.

I'm going to put a catch pan under it tonight. Just to make sure. I am using red antifreeze so I'll be able to be sure. I somewhat smell it on the outside of the truck.. I'll be turning on the heater to see if I smell it through the vents...I'm so hoping its not the core but my luck hasn't been too good lately...lol
