How does the dealer program this option with non DL3 trucks? What's involved? Has anyone done this at the dealer? Reason I ask is because I can get a brand new OEM switch very very cheap and I might have a "hook up" at a local dealer through a buddy of mine so I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble.

From reading some of those posts, if one takes the driver and passenger switches from a donor vehicle already with DL3, no programming will be necessary. Otherwise both modules will have to be flashed with the Tech2 or the MDI/GDS and Tis2Web.

That thread is all over the place but yea I kinda got the same thing. Rather than eBay I might just go to the junkyard since you really can’t tell which pass switch comes from a DL3 truck.

There is no physical or part number difference. One can only tell by RPO code.

So I went to the junk yard and found a Burb with a DL3 code so I snatched up the pass switch for $40. They work perfect except the driver side is a bit noisy so I think I might have to order those brass gears soon. Now all that's left is to program the BCM for the turn signal, auto dim and the auto tilt when going reverse.

If your going to have the BCM reprogrammed and you are or plan to run LED turn signals then you should have them program the BCM to be compatible while your at it so you won't need load resistors.

Good job getting your mirrors functional BTW.

Well it turns out the "reverse auto tilt" works! I noticed on the pass side mirror, my driver's side mirror has a bad actuator that only moves L/R and not up or down hence i thought the auto tilt wasn't working.
