Tune and full exhaust help

Just came back from a camping trip in Colorado and I need to do some upgrades for performance. I have a 1998 GMC Yukon 4wd, bone stock, no performance upgrades at all. So I’m thinking full exhaust, headers to tailpipes, then a tune. Been seeing a lot about magnaflow highflow cats and mufflers with H pipe. Would prefer a setup I can bolt in myself as opposed to having it welded in but not a dealbreaker. As far as headers go I’m thinking shortys but I don’t know specifics, I guess I need to hear from someone that has actually done it and knows the part numbers etc..
As for the tune, I need something easy to use, reversible, and inexpensive. I’ve looked over a few tuning setups but most are only for 1999 and up. I like the Superchips 2815, but it’s old, outdated, and doesn’t have much support. I need something that can adjust speedo and gearing and offer different power options like economy, towing, and hi performance. I know I’m asking a lot but I want to hear from someone who has experience with these things as I have very little. Thanks in advance!

you can replace all that exhaust with bolt on to look stock and street legal. should cost you definitely less then 1500 for sure. but h pipe work would involve custom work. my setup now would cost bout the same but involves welding and has tri-y's, magnaflow cats, and flowmaster cat-back but is all cali legal.

for tuning on an obs with an onboard device with multiple tunes options are rare. maybe just get spare pcm with multiple black bear tunes on them. or the tunes from them and them efliive package hardware from them to switch between them yourself on 0411 pcm mod.

black bear does list thier autocal tuner for the 98 and up so i would give them a shout about tuning options. ive already talked with them about my 97 and my option is the pcm swap as sunlit commented but thats pretty easy. for your exhaust you have some options how much money and time you want to invest in it. im using pacesetter shorties so i can use the stock style y pipe. if you go the route of shorties i like pacesetter myself but if possible i would spring for a higher branded one. pacesetter has some installation issues that make it harder to get everything back together.

We would be happy to help with tuning. We tune 96+ GM gas vehicles. For 98+ we have three tune options, two involve physically tuning the computer, the only way to put it back to factory is keeping your original computer and have us tune one of ours and send it out.

Our third option, the AutoCal, is device that you keep and allows us to see vehicle data and provide tune files via email. You can use it to put the vehicle back to factory setting whenever you need to, tune multiple GM vehicle (with purchase of tune and license), read and clear codes. Also we update our tunes for free as long as you own the vehicle, the AutoCal allows you to receive the updates via email.
