Vehicle is 2005 Tahoe, 5.3, 4wd.

So, the original stock radiator is now 13 years old, and I'm starting to not trust it. I'm also looking for more cooling on uphill trailer pulls in the screamin' hot desert.

The Mishimoto units look way cool, but screamin' expensive. Has anyone tried one?

What do you have, how long have you had it, and how do you like it?

Thanks!!

Don

#103285 from 1800radiator, works great, lifetime warranty, I have had mine for about a year now zero problems at 1000ft, I had a brief temp fluctuation at 9000ft hauling butt up a upgrade when it was 75deg outside and that may only be because I have the truecool max in front of it

I just made a 1300 mile trip in my 06 Denali XL from Florida to The foothills in North Carolina and back. Like two days before I left on my trip my truck got a mishimoto radiator. So on my trip up my 7by16 trailer was packed full ,ran about 57-58 mph and 95 degrees the whole way. Heading up when I hit the foothills the engine would heat up going up but not to the point of over heating, maybe 205-210. But going down hill it would cool down to like 180 till half way up the next hill. But what I really liked about it whas the transmission never got any hotter than maybe 185 the whole trip. And I am running slight stall converter 2200-2400 . I do also have a large transmission cooler out front.
What I did not like all the fittings on the new radiator were loose so be careful!
Also on my way home about 140 miles from home in Daytona Beach the lower transmission quick connect started leading. But I made it home with out killing my new transmission and converter! I always check fluids and do a walk around every fill up on road trips!
