Yes. Hence the rust and the bedliner on the new one. Also Delco OE.
That’s weird that they went to metal in the later years. Seems plastic would be better. I decided to use the lock ring I painted. That Hammerite Rust Cap looks like it will hold up better than the factory paint plus I’m pretty sure I got all the rust off. It was just a little bit.

It's done. Started right up so my seat of the pants diagnosis was correct, the fuel pump did indeed take a shit. I was going to replace it awhile back, figuring it was time, but then I got caught up deciding if I wanted even worse gas mileage by adding boost which would have meant a bigger pump. I'm over that whole thing now, I'm staying where I'm at for the near future unless I get another daily. I need The Beast to not break and adding boost is a sure recipe for breakage lol. After I installed the tank, I cleaned things with my pressure washer before mounting the rear wheels.

IMG_8540.JPG Washed The Beast today. I started back to work last Friday and got a few compliments on it from some new guys so I thought I'd make it shine. All it took was a good wash; I don't remember if it was Trinova paint sealer or carnuba wax I used on it last time but it seems to be working good even after several months.
