Hey can we beat this to death at least one more time? :)
I have a low beam out on my Denali. So obviously I need to replace it. I don't want to replace housings or anything because they are in good shape. I also don't want to spend an obscene amount of money. But if I could spend a bit more, and get some improvement, I'm all for it. Is there a replacement conventional that is worth a bit extra or even an LED that is reliable and doesn't require modification to install? If I spend $50 and get a good improvement, that sees like an all around win.
Thoughts?

I checked and those seem to be well outside the scope of what I wanted to invest in this. Not saying they aren't completely worth it. They look great.

I ended up with the Auxbeam LED's. Color is certainly whiter than what I had. Haven't had it out at night yet to check the real world. They have a small allen screw that can index the bulb rotatioinally. Not sure how you know you need to do that. Certainly a pain in the rear to do on my Denali. They don't make bulbs as accessible as they used to be.

Like the bulbs at night, but seems like a lot of the light is within 10' of the bumper on the ground. Is rotating the bulb with the adjustment productive? I believe this bulb has three LED surfaces. I would like a little more distance out of the light. I might even adjust the aim a little.

anytime you change the bulb from oem your going to have to adjust the lights, even though the say there 360DEG there not, the leds have a shadow and are not made for a oem reflector so you just have to adjust them as best you can. the LED's also flicker the human eye cannot detect it but I still think it affects the light output overall.

LED retrofit bulbs. They’re right up there with asbestos pajamas, candy from other countries that use lead paint on the wrappers and using gasoline as a solvent to clean up your wiring harness.

Only a few understand how difficult it is to find an application where they’ll work without leaking 11,000 lumens into the retinas of oncoming traffic. All I can say is if the owner of a $hitty, leaking retrofit led kit had their own vehicle’s led kit following or driving down on them, with their own wife, kids, mom in the car, they’d want to take two pumps with 150 grain slugs to those POS led’s.

I see I picked someone's scab unintentionally.
So when we talk about adjusting...is this rotating the bulb (these have three light emitting sides) or simply aiming the headlight?

Nah, no picking occurring. When my in-laws get passionate about small talk I pick up my phone and start “responding to texts from work so I don’t have to go in” (or engage with them). This is the thread I opened up and started pecking with 60% of my attention into the topic.

I hit my mark correctly on the lack of aiming as well as the few, like you, who know and care to rotate the bulb. Thanks are in order for that. Characters who can’t or won’t orient the bulbs, for whatever reason is where I parked the post.

DHS’s weaponised vomit version is the same, severely detuned, technology being used in less powerful retrofit led headlights. Again, only kudos to you for sharing the info on how to tune/turn the led kits into the factory housings. It’s the Wild West until DOT/state/local adopts a standard for a fair standard between adequate and out of control led retrofit led kits.

Approx 1 in 10 cars her in SoCal run them in 15-20+ year old cars that have reflector technology incapable of tuning the light pattern. My passion lies in watching some dude almost run over a family carrying their Costco pizzas to the car. He was dazzled in his suv by a lowered import with led’s. I thought that Dad was going to turn the kids car over.
