    Light trail modifications.

Rear brakes crapped out on me, I spent some change putting an EBC kit and all new parking brakes and cables. I decided I'd rather just leave it alone instead of dumping more money into my old rusty daily (the stock size tires on it now are still almost brand new too). Eventually the hopes is to...

    Front end squeaking/chirping

To add on to that, always make sure that the pads move freely in the clips. A lot of times the cheap "performance" pads you can find on Amazon and such don't fit well and require filing the ears down in order to fit correctly. -Justin

    Front end squeaking/chirping

Nobody's going to say anything about brakes, really? Look at your brakes. Even if they look fine, lube them up correctly anyways. Then grab a stethoscope. -Justin

    Tow mirror trouble

Think I found your problem Not to knock Amazon, but I feel like most of the cheap stuff on there is worse even than Ebay knockoffs. My dad bought some cheap tow mirrors of this style off Amazon to put on his OBS. Neither of the motors to adjust the mirrors worked at all, and they shake like mad...

    Recommendation on portable toolbox/chest

I have this box and I love it. Got it for Christmas two years ago and use it almost daily. I always leave it in the back of my daily just in case I need to work on something. It's a bit heavy for say something to bring to the junkyard with you, but a wheelbarrow will make that easier. My...

    Oil pan gasket

If your lift is one of those that relocates the whole IFS down, then you might not need o move the diff. I just did this on my stock 02 tahoe and I barely got the pan out having unbolted the diff and pulled it down some. Easiest way to tell is to just look at it. If there's not at least 6" of...

    New transmission, now getting P1870

I've done some, seems that the TCC apply being loose is a fairly common cause which is why I asked about that. Guess the only way to find out is when the tranny guy tells me

    New transmission, now getting P1870

Definitely going to have to. One thing I know better than go messing around in is a valve body. I hope it's something as simple as a solenoid because my wallet's not exactly feeling very heavy lol. -Justin

    New transmission, now getting P1870

02 Tahoe LT with 209k miles. Transmission let go earlier this year, was off the road for a while and put a new one in that was rebuilt with some upgraded parts by a guy off Craigslist. For $500 I figured it was worth the shot. Transmission is in, started driving it last week drives and shifts...

How to fix Hot Air when A/C is on. Install new air mix/blend door actuator

I made a new thread on it, but the new actuator didn't do it for me. Same exact symptoms as the old one. Only moves about half a degree between full hot and full cold. Not sure how to go about testing the signal sent by the controls. -Justin

    How to test heater controls?

Bump, not sure if this is normal or not but I can turn the rod by hand when the fans are off but when they're on I have to use a pair of pliers to turn it. I assume it's because of the air blowing gives it resistance?

    How to test heater controls?

2002 Tahoe with dual zone manual controls (front on the dash and rear on the overhead). Truck was off the road for a few months, just now getting back into driving it and the heat is always blowing hot air. Things I've done: - confirm Air conditioning system is functional (compressor turns on...

    Looking for a smoother ride....shocks

Our trucks don't have them, but it's worth noting that most old ass trucks ride like shit because their cheap rubber leaf springs bushings are long gone. On an old worn out Tahoe, I'd replace your control arm bushings and ball joints that should help you out a good amount if they're old. That...
