LED tail lights with resistor, CC inop

Had the same problem with my 2003 Tahoe. It's the aftermarket lights. The LEDs do not have enough, for lack of a better term, resistance in the bulb themselves. So, the car senses that you have the brakes on. Hence no CC. You can buy an online resistor for the wiring and it solves the problem...

Can I just swap stock bulbs for LED?

Yes as far as know they are a straight up replacement. I have them in my Explorer Express, but I'm swaping them out for HIDs. I've used both and the HIDs are way better though more complicated to install. Prices now a days is not that much different. HIDs used to be expensive, but they come way...

    Upgrading Headlights and Fog/Running Lights

Having used both LED and HID's I can tell you the HIDs are way better. I'm 72 and have been installing them in my vehicles since the early 2000's (Sierra, Tahoe, 4Runner, Express). They were expensive back then, but they've come down in price. I just bought a set of high and lows for my 2010...

Anyone replaced their unused spare tire due to age?

Yes. At 50K I bought 5 new tires for my Express AWD van. The spare was original so it was 13 years old (I'm retired and don't drive much). The other tires had 35K on them. They still had decent tread, but one was having issues holding air and they were all again 11 years old. I think tires can...

    New member 2003 Tahoe

I thought my 2010 Express AWD Explorer with 52K was impressive. A 2003 with 55k. If that's legit that a hell of a deal. Welcome to the forum.

Battery drain on a 99 Tahoe

You said you're using a battery tender. Know this sounds weird, but it's happened to me twice. I had a battery tender on my 97 Tahoe and the battery went totally dead. Bought a new battery. Put the tender on my 2010 Express. It killed it in 2 days. I was able to recharge it with a different...

Possibly future 2003 Tahoe owner... not sure yet

I owned a 2003. Beautiful vehicle, but was a nightmare. The main isue was the brakes. They would just go to the floor at random times and you'd have to pump fast to keep from having an accident. A lot of NHTSA complaints on the issue. Chevy refused to fix it. But they did sell me a new 2004 for...

    Dead in the water

As soon as it warms up again I'm going to be doing some investigating. My project for today is replacing a rear speed sensor in the warmth of my garage.

That was kind of next step. I'm hoping ground since that would be the easiest to deal with. Thanks.

    Dead in the water

We have a goodly number of tree rats around here that chew up everything they can get their little teeth on. I'll check that? Thanks.

    Dead in the water

I own a 1997, 5.7, 4x4, automatic, 2DR Tahoe that I bought about 7 years ago. It's mostly just a retirement project though I do drive it around town and in the winter time. I've put way more into it than I'd ever get back if sold, but that was never the point. I always wanted one and I have had...
