    Fixes and.then maybe not!

Check your battery first. Is the truck charging hard when it's running properly? Does the gauge plummet when the idle is low, or just before the idle drops? Only takes a few minutes to rule it out - a weak battery or improper charging can cause havoc with the sensors the computer depends on to...

    Radiator replacement

Yes that is indeed the edge of the aluminum radiator core. It's sort of irritating that mine came assembled and yours didn't. I'll have to remember that when ordering parts online - I would be furious, if positions were reversed. Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk

    Radiator replacement

I'm so sorry, sir. Had a robbery attempt last night and I ended up at work until nearly time to open this morning. Headed back after I type out this message. What you see is what I got - the only parts recycled are the cooler lines themselves and the plastic caps. Everything forward of the...

    Radiator replacement

I will do that as soon as I'm done at work sir. I would imagine if yours did not come with fittings that it was improperly manufactured. The fittings in my old radiator were let's say very well bonded in place. I know this because I skip that step in the video, and I spent 20 minutes trying to...

    Radiator replacement

Oh jeez that DOES suck. I don't suppose you could take it back and exchange it could you? It has to be defective. Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk

    Radiator replacement

Never mind, I see it. Only thing that comes to mind is that the spring clips that came with the new rad were of a slightly different shape than the factory ones. Mine aren't seeping after 100+ miles installed - did you use the ones provided? Did they come with new clips at all? I'd have to...

    Radiator replacement

What I purchased was the AutoZone "direct replacement" Duralast B2423 radiator. While I'm not sure if it counts as OEM, it did indeed match all the dimensions and have all the fittings in exactly the same places as the rad that was in my Yuke. A few disclaimers: 1) my upper radiator hose had a...

    Radiator replacement

Ah, okay, I understand! Sorry I'm a bit dense! Thank you, I wouldn't ha e thought of that. Guess I should look to see where the thermostat actually is on this - I wasn't brave enough to try the water pump on my own. :) Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk

    Radiator replacement

Thanks for all the tips and hints! It went in without any real issues, which surprised me. I do however either I would have flushed the thing - the old radiator must have weighed 15 lbs more than the OEM replacement of the same design, which makes me wonder what on Earth kind of dirt is floating...

    Battery is always dead.

If the battery is new and you don't want to invest in a draw meter, use a multimeter to measure the amperage drawn from the battery (I'd suggest alligator clips) and start pulling a fuse at a time. When the amps drawn drops significantly you've found your current draw. Troubleshoot from there...

    Radiator replacement

I've gotten new hoses, clamps, a new radiator and a new overflow bottle cap. I'm about to embark on a radiator replacement. Myself. I'm sure this will turn out.....just fine. My current radiator has developed a sizable crack in the plastic tank just below the top hose, a vertical one, and I did...

2000 Yukon-Long warm up time - partial heater core restriction possibly?

So it's a bad thing that my 2001 has a top rad hose that is marked 10-31-00? :) It's on my list of stuff to do. It's a long list. Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk

2000 Yukon-Long warm up time - partial heater core restriction possibly?

Glad to hear you think you've gotten it licked! Not sure what the other guys experience is, but my Yukon can sit and idle for quite a long time and not generate heat. Since I replaced the water pump and thermostat, though, if I start driving it it only takes a few minutes to have some sort of...

    4WD not engaged when indicated

I didn't directly power it, no; but without checking it again it wasn't long, perhaps a second and a half. I just got kind of excited when it didn't do anything - all right! I found the culprit and this isn't going to be ha.....oh, never mind. :D Sent from my SM-S727VL using Tapatalk
