    I have the 3L Fiat Ecodiesel in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and I love it. Good enough power even towing through the mountains of Colorado and great fuel economy. I average 17.5 mpg (hand calc) towing a travel trailer. I don't care about it for saving money per se but getting just under 400 miles...

    Good thread. I'm in a similar boat as the OP and have test driven both this past week. I agree with most of his assessments. The Auto Stop/Start can be disabled by unplugging the wire that powers the system. Looks downright trivial...
