Cylinder 6 misfire.. Cant figure it out..

Have you swapped plug and plug wires with the opposite side of comparable length? I just replaced my plugs, had a misfire, had spark, and while everything looked good, the ~brand new plug quit working with no markings or other indication that it was bad...

    97 yukon backfireing thru intake.

A weak coil won't cause a backfire like that, not to the extent you're suggesting. If the timimg is off, then the valves are open when the spark ignites the fuel/air mix, which is why you'll see flame pop out of the throttle body. That's really ******* your engine. If I checked anything...

    Help! Check Engine p0161 p0305 p0420

The misfire was caused by one of the brand new spark plugs I installed failing, and i put a new magnaflow cat on the driver's side. All good now, though my truck just got vandalized- they smashed all the glass on the passenger side and took my medical bag full of gauze, etc., no meds or...

    Help! Check Engine p0161 p0305 p0420

Ok. So after talking to my buddies, who are more intelligent than I, they say that the codes for the misfire and converter aren't related, though the misfire could cause the converter to go, if unattended for long enough, but that's not the case. So, I'm off to fix a misfire, then replace the...

    I need opinions on this

Post the codes here, and we'll tell you if you should buy it or not. The owners say one thing, what does the onboard computer say? :) It could be a screaming deal, but it could easily be a major money suck. Good find though; your head is in the right place. :headbang:

    Help! Check Engine p0161 p0305 p0420

What was the resolution, if any? I've got the P0420 with P0305 as well. I already replaced both up and downstream O2 sensors on the driver's side (before reading this), but I've still got the misfire. When I pull the plug, it's dry, identical to the others on the same side of the engine. I...

    Sudden P0300

Got it. The cam retard was fine, so I went back through the path of the spark. The new cap that I put on during the last tune-up evidently burned through itself, so spark was jumping and arcing across the cap. What kind of stupid design is that, anyway? Can't just keep it simple...

    Sudden P0300

Recent history- I replaced the plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, and got a couple small holes in the exhaust pipe just before the cat welded about a month or two ago. The truck has been running great. This morning on my way to work, on the freeway, the SES light started blinking, and the...

    Blown cat?

You can put your hand over the end of the tail pipe, and see if it's developing pressure. If you have a leak, you'll be able to keep your hand on the pipe, and it will hiss where it's blown through. Even if it's a pin hole. You'll need a friend (I asked my wife, and she was NOT happy...

    99 Yukon wont start

Outstanding. I hate it when that happens. you make one change, and then something completely unrelated goes wrong, and you chase your tail for hours, trying to prove you aren't on crack...

    How to recharge your AC

Yup, keep adding pressure, Bowtie. It will even out. If it doesn't, there's a pressure relief that will pop, vent, and then you know you have another problem... But mine did this in the beginning too. Eventually the needle will just cycle within the green. Make sure you rock the can back on...

    A/C hose assembly replacement help

A shop will charge a lot of money for something you can do cheaply yourself, because they have to deal with the EPA, and disposal costs for AC stuff. We can bypass that crap. :) The high pressure lines sometimes require a special tool to disconnect, but it's a tool easily found at O'Reilly's...
