'00 Tahoe LS Panel lights only half working - SOLVED

I am not familiar with the 2014 Tahoe's, but would suspect the removal process is fairly simple. I'm sure someone else here can speak more to it than I can. Generally speaking , unless there's a grounding issue with the panel, it would be a light bulb issue rather than anything else, at least to...

'00 Tahoe LS Panel lights only half working - SOLVED

Well, after about a hour of troubleshooting traces on the backplane of the instrument panel, and finding nothing, I went back to the old-school troubleshooting I learned 5o years ago - remove everything and replace one at a time to find out what does and what doesn't work. Before I go on, let...

    12v power outlets

OK, here's what I've found out. There is a power box under the dash, close to the firewall, left(drivers) side. I was able to find one of the pins there that goes live when the key is on in run or start. While this doesn't make the existing power outlets in the dash work, I went over to the...

    12v power outlets

Not sure about the Denali's, but my 00 Tahoe is hot always. Not sure why, but one of the members here said there's a power block under the steering column(IIRC) that has switchable power. Hope it helps

'00 Tahoe LS Panel lights only half working - SOLVED

Yup, thought of that too. I tried every way to stick it in the hole  but no difference. I also tried 2 other LED's just to be sure. I didn't think of putting one of the old incandescents back in until just now, but am doubtful. The whole reason I was going to LED's anyway was cause that...

'00 Tahoe LS Panel lights only half working - SOLVED

Ever since I've had the truck, as far as I can remember, the left half of the instrument panel's dash lighting hasn't worked. IIRC, only things on that side are the tach and half the speedo, so no big deal. I am in the process of LED upgrades for the outside lights, and thought why not go LED...

Anyone need an LM487 flasher unit? FOUND A NEW HOME!

Yes, exactly. I'm much happier with where it ended up than if I would have sent it back for a refund. I believe in paying it forward, regardless of the outcome, and am happy to help out a fellow member. This forum has helped me immensely with problems I've run into, and I hope to repay that...

Anyone need an LM487 flasher unit? FOUND A NEW HOME!

Sorry, Matt, it's already been spoken for, but you are right - it WILL cure your hyperflash without using resistors. It takes longer to unscrew the dash panel to get to it than it does to replace it!

Part shows delivered to wrong address

Well, now it's happening here! Was supposed to have a package delivered last Weds. 10/6, even got notification from FedEx that it would be Thurs. instead of Weds. OK I can work around that. Thurs I wait all day only to look up and find out it was "undeliverable" due to a wrong apt, unit #...

Anyone need an LM487 flasher unit? FOUND A NEW HOME!

If anyone has use for an LM487 flasher, let me know. I think it fits on the 03-07, but I KNOW for a fact it does not fit on a 00 Tahoe LS. The 487 is rectangular, and correct one for the 00 Tahoe is an EP29(thanks to Fless for that info). If anyone has use for one, or knows someone who does...

2000 Tahoe LS Hyperflash after LED installation - SOLVED

I have read all of these threads on hyper Flash, and all of them relate to putting in an LM487 Flash replacement. However, on my 2000 Tahoe LS, LM487 will not fit. I have a square flasher rather than a rectangular one that the 487 is. Apparently the apparently the auto part stores around here do...

    Replacement Headlight/Turn signal lenses

As I'm changing over from the standard incandescent bulbs, I discovered that my turn/DTR lens assy's on both sides are full of water. i know from experience this is not unusual, so I was going to order replacements, but got to wondering: Are there any later year assemblies that would be a...
