I would, but we are taking the Tahoe. We are driving out to Florida to take the family to Disney World, got to get on the road by 8:00am and I get off shift at the fire station at 7:00am.
I just did this exact thing with my G4's and used the exact resistors from v-leds. What I did was unplug and discard the black box on the back of the taillight, this is the factory resistor. Then using the new resistors and the connectors, attach one end of the resistor to the factory green...
It really depends on your area and how the cops are. If you say they are kinda strict in your area then I would probably only tint them to the legal limit for your state.
The Tahoe's can not be baked apart. The adhesive they use is a really high temp adhesive the will not soften up like the Yukons. Your best bet is to cut them open and epoxy them back together.

I been doing a little work to the Yukon lately.
I got the rear half of the car interior as well as the whole roof sound deadened. I used RAAMmat BXT followed by their Ensolite foam.
I also blacked out my headlights.
