I have a 4.5" BDS suspension lift on my 05 Z71, which came with new rear sway bar links and hardware. Welp, apparently the shop I had put the kit on didn't torque the sway bar link bolts enough (and shame on me for not checking after 500 miles) because the other day on a long road trip both...
I've got a Frontier Gear rear bumper for a 99-06 Silverado which you'd think would mount up on a GMT800 Tahoe, but alas - the rear mounting brackets are different.
Has anyone modified a Silverado/Sierra bumper to fit on their SUV? I'm waiting on better weather to crawl under and start...
Has anyone installed the 2015 style tow-mirrors on their ride? I really like the look and I'm looking for ones with dual functionality on the front-facing LEDs (running lights & turn signals). I've seen a few different aftermarket brands - any recommendations?
Hmm...It appears that only the factory black Z71's didn't come with painted fender flares - they're an ugly dark gray plastic, darker than the cladding along the bottom. Well on the bright side that means Chevy was able to paint them, so I should be able to too!
I think I found a couple example pics online, but wondering if anyone has had success painting their OEM Z71 flares and the ugly gray cladding?
I've got a black '05 Z71 and I'm debating blacking out all the trim. Wondering if anyone has a recommendation on paint type/treatment for painting the...
I had this problem on my '02 and it resulted in rusting through the doglegs of the rear door frames before I caught it. That seem doesn't exist on my '05 though - they replaced it with a single piece plastic wheel well. What year is yours?
So I'm looking to get this Frontier Gear front bumper with bull guard for my 2005 Z71 Tahoe which I've confirmed fits:

And I'd like to get Frontier Gear's matching rear...
Has anyone had good experience with a shop in Massachusetts? Specifically looking for a suspension lift install and light bodywork. Eastern/Central MA recommendations would be clutch, but if you've got a great shop anywhere in MA I want to know about it!
Thanks!
Thanks for the update MA brother. Window tint I know they're strict on, but that's crap on the wheels - you're allowed to run wider wheels and tires than stock on 4WD vehicles in MA.
What do you mean by it's "capped now"?
Title XIV, Chapter 90, Section 7P of the MA General Laws is where the 2"+/- ride height rule, but it makes specific allowance for the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to make other regulations to height changes beyond the 2"...
Wheel spacers are also illegal in MA period. You can increase your wheel track by up to 4" using larger tires/wheels though - but that doesn't get you much in the equation, it works out to like an extra 1/4"
Man f my state huh? New Hampshire is looking better and better every day...
I've got a 2005 Z71 that I'm looking to put a mechanical lift on and larger tires. Only problem is I live in, and the vehicle is registered in, MA. Massachusetts has a mathematical equation for maximum lift on 4x4 vehicles: wheelbase x wheel track (outside edge of tire to outside edge of tire)...
