Loss of power was actually an anti-lock brake issue.

I thought I would post this just in case it would help someone else out. I see others have had similar issues with a variety of causes. Several months ago, I pulled away from a stop sign and my truck just took a nosedive like I had lost all power. I could feather the throttle and eventually get...

Air Ride Z55 shock part number questions

I have a 2006 Yukon Denali and have managed to squeeze about 240,000 miles out of the original shocks. Rear air shocks have been leaking and finally the pump stopped working. I have been planning on replacing this for a while and picked up one original shock (it was too good a deal to pass on)...

Might be my worst nightmare.... low oil pressure, tick noise after 75+mph

I have previously posted about oil pressure issues with my '06 Denali. That truck also came from Texas with a coolant system full of water. I caught the water issue before winter. I live in Minnesota. I have seen the damage of coolant freezing, it destroys engines. I went through all the steps...

    Injector o-ring differences

I have the intake off the engine I am getting ready to put in my Denali. I figured I would take the injectors out, clean them, and put new o-rings on them. I got an ACDelco kit that came with all blue o-rings and the part number is listed as correct although it as since been superseded by a...

    What would you do?

There has been some good advice here. A few years back we bought my wife a 2003 Alero with a salvage title as a result of some minor deer impact damage. I knew salvage cars can cause insurance issues later on but the car was an unusual car with a special dealer installed interior that my wife...

Does a Denali AWD have G80?

I had heard or read at one time that the limited slip or the stability control is activated by the computer using the ABS system to control the individual wheels. Is that what you are referring to?

Does a Denali AWD have G80?

I have a 2006 Yukon Denali. I have seen a bunch of conflicting info on the Denali AWD systems. I was originally under the impression that they do not have a true AWD. It is basically two "one wheel wonder" axles tied together by a transfer case that does the "slipping" But I have seen claims...

What's the "right" way to kill rattles?

I read that wrong. I was going say get a mongoose! I have used the peel and stick rubber feet or foam feet. The rubber feet are thicker and compress less so they put more pressure between the two pieces.

    Oil pressure switch, screen?

Mine took a dive over just a few days. Probably 5 - 10 pounds a day from 40 pounds down to 10 or less depending on how warm the oil gets. Not really a sign of main bearings but more an indication of a cam. I have yet to get the ticking though. Very frustrating, great motors except for this pesky...

Are all 6.0 GMC Denali's AWD? Longevity of AWD?

I would think the simplest way to get the 6.0L and avoid the AWD would be to get 2500 series with 4WD. The only drawback might be the stiffer suspension as I think the 3/4 tons have leaf springs in the rear. Denalis (at least my '06) have 3:73 gears and I would think you could get those in a 3/4...

    Oil pressure switch, screen?

There are several threads addressing this issue including one from myself. If you look mine up from last year you can see when it started (i don't remember). I am still driving the truck with low oil pressure. It is slowly getting worse. I drove it all winter with Mobil 1 synthetic 0W - 40W and...

    Is this a Suncoast hood?

It does look like the Spyder 3 except that it has the little extractors. The Spyder 3 I have seen looks like it has some contours near were the extractors are but does not actually have extractors. If they closed up I guess I will have to keep my eyes open for a used one but won't hold my...

    Is this a Suncoast hood?

Yes, The center goes over to the air box. The extractor vents appear to be open to the inside but I am not 100% sure because I have only seen pictures of a few.

    Is this a Suncoast hood?

I came across a hood I like but can't find any solid info on it. I believe it is a Suncoast but not sure. It may have come as a kit with the a special air filter and box. So far it looks like Suncoast sold out to the employees back around 2016 or 2017. However, the website and Facebook stuff is...

    Shorty header questions

Thanks for the info. I guess I assumed they used a donut gasket between the y-pipe and flange. By the sounds of this they must use a flat gasket. I have not had mine apart yet so I have not seen how they connect. I only have the manifolds that came with my replacement motor which have flat...
