    2004 Burb 8.1 with 260k and climbing; it's my daily driver. BlackBear tune really woke it up. 185 t stat helps with oil consumption. What questions do you have?

    The side molding on my drivers side door is starting to come off and I'd like to reattach it. What adhesive/glue is recommended for molding? Vehicle in question is a black 2012 Z71.

    For what it's worth, I vote 8.1. I love mine in my suburban. There is not a ton of aftermarket support for it without some deep pockets. But it is a low end torque machine and runs amazing for what it is on my Blackbear 91/93 tune. GM performance finally offers a conversion kit to mount a 6l90...

    I did add the mic too. Dark green goes to B1 and the stripped green/black goes to B2. Sorry for the delayed response, I had to find my notes from when I did this upgrade. If I remember correctly, I had to change the wires to get my mic to work. I believe some of the forums and write ups say...

    Why do people say the 5.3 Vortec is slow?

    My wife drives '12 z71 5.3 and I drive an 8.1 Suburban and can see a marked difference in power. Drop the 6.0 and put in the 496.

    Pin A1 on the RSE is the Class 2 wire you need to tap and put into pin B10 of the amp harness. I am very pleased with my lux upgrade in my 04; hopefully you will like yours as well.
