New guy with 2011 yukon xl

Welcome... Since I have a similar truck, I'll share my experience I've had my 2011 Denali for 2 years now. Got it with 180,000, now has 200,000; alot of them towing a car hauler. I paid less knowing it was high mileage but fairly well maintained and figured I spend some money on it. So...

    Engine Stuttering at ~1500 RPMs

I had similar symptom; only at slight acceleration from cruise. Tried injector cleaning, throttle body, ignition stuff... It was the torque converter. Its not too hard to diconnect the trans oil line at the radiator- assuming you don't have auxilliary trans cooler (then its even easier)- and...

Loose valve seat caused bent pushrod, not AFM failure

My mistake; I started in wrong section...

Loose valve seat caused bent pushrod, not AFM failure

I thought the AFM was enough to worry about. Now I'll be towing down the road dreading another valve seat to depart?

Loose valve seat caused bent pushrod, not AFM failure

I posted a couple of weeks ago how a trans rebuild resulted in a bent pushrod. I assumed it was an AFM failure: lifter lockup and bent pushrod. Turned out to be the intake seat coming loose. Seat holds valve off, piston hits valve and bends, valve is stuck and pushrod bends. So not caused by...

Rebuilt transmission, now bent valve and pushrod

I paid $11k a couple years ago. Even if I have to spend up to $10k between the trans rebuild and engine fix/refresh, I'm not feeling too bad. I mean that hurts; not the kind of cash flow I was planning on. But a replacement would be in the $20k range and probably wouldn't have anything rebuilt.

Rebuilt transmission, now bent valve and pushrod

They will start working on it Tuesday. If I'm very lucky it didn't score the cam, piston or other damage, but that's pretty iffy. Gonna be spendy either way...

Rebuilt transmission, now bent valve and pushrod

I posted recently about what turned out to be torque converter stutter and metal in the trans oil. I took it in for new TC and trans rebuild. After a test drive they were driving it again to set shift points etc. and got a misfire and engine codes for cyl. 4. They tried to trouble shoot it...

Stumble at part throttle, no codes: It's the torque converter

Man, that was a job! I can't imagine getting all that drivetrain back in place. I figure I've already spent enough time on the pavement/dirt/concrete under cars that I don't feel too bad about farming out the major stuff.

Stumble at part throttle, no codes: It's the torque converter

Good to know... Yeah, last couple of days, mine was requiring revs before finally engaging with a jerk, leaving a stop. I've gotten pretty bold with the rolling "stops." I don't have the resources to pull and rebuild it myself, so will go to Aamco or see if my local guy can do it.

Stumble at part throttle, no codes: It's the torque converter

I went after the ignition and intake stuff many folks have done. Nothing helped. With more research, I settled on the torque converter shudder/ failing TC/ lockup clutch. I was hoping to just replace the TC, but was concerned that its failing many have shed metal particles. So I connected a...

Stumble at part throttle, no codes: It's the torque converter

    198,000. I've had it last 20,000.

Stumble at part throttle, no codes: It's the torque converter

My 2011 Denali has started an annoying stumble at part throttle. So under light load, in any gear, with just enough throttle to accelerate, but not shift down, the engine will stumble/miss/hesitate. Down shift to higher revs, its smooth, no problem. I noticed it first while towing; when cruise...
